A Home for Everything

At My Saving Grace, we are BIG FANS of helping you find charitable organizations to donate your purged items to. We believe we all should be good stewards of what we have, and let’s face it - most of us have too much. We are quite certain that someone out there could benefit from the things you have outgrown, don’t use anymore, or have replaced. And how’s this for motivation: You can get a tax write-off for your donation & we’ll help you get it there - it’s a win-win situation!

Here are just a few of our favorite places to donate to in Louisville:

Habitat ReStore: Open to the public, Habitat ReStore is Louisville’s only non-profit building supply resource that reinvests profits into building homes for others in need.

For more information or to schedule a donation pick-up, call at 636-2419.

Jefferson Street Baptist Center: This homeless shelter exists to show God’s unconditional love to homeless people in tangible ways. They have a day shelter, transitional housing, and permanent housing - so they could use anything you would put in a home: gently used furniture, art, cleaning products, daily hygiene products, bath towels, computers, electronic equipment, food, kitchen supplies, etc.

Goodwill: Since 1923, Goodwill has been collecting and reselling goods in Kentucky to fund their job training and counseling services. Each year, their programs benefit thousands of Kentuckians with disabilities and disadvantages. Here’s how your donation helps:
• You donate to Goodwill—things like clothes, small appliances, furniture, or cars.
• Your donations are processed for resale by Goodwill employees, many of whom have disabilities or other disadvantages.
• Your donation is resold in a Goodwill store. Their stores provide jobs and career training to people with disabilities or disadvantages.

If an item is broken, torn, or stained, the item gets put in a bale, is sold at a bulk rate, and often gets shipped to third world countries. Goodwill makes the most of every donation.
